We arrived home yesterday, early evening....and we were so glad to be home! It's a LOT of work taking a vacation! Planning, packing, traveling, shopping for groceries, cooking meals, hiking, kayaking, packing up, driving home, unpacking and then....LAUNDRY!! PHEW! I'm pooped! I need a vacation! (oh, and the pantry was barren, so TacCom and I went right out after starting the first load of laundry and did the week's grocery shopping....)
In the past I have made movies commemorating our time spent in Pittsburg....and in following traditions past, here is my 2012 movie of our vacation in the north country of New Hampshire. Enjoy!

Another movie
Last week Melody bought her first car...I took a few pictures of her showing it to Wynne. Last night, we were sitting out on the front porch and my two middle kids, Olivia and Paul, were letting me take as many pictures as I wanted of them together...what I ended up with was the material for this movie....with some flowers from last year's garden mixed in. (this year's garden is not doing well enough to warrant documentation, sadly)
Well, here is my latest movie with music by Kari Jobe. "Everyone needs a little"
Enjoy

Just for fun!
Sometimes you just gotta make a fun movie! Here is one that I put together today from a road trip that we took yesterday to the Swift River in the north country of New Hampshire...

He Is...JAH
About a month ago, my sister mentioned that she was going on a retreat involving teaching by Beth Moore. When I heard that, I invited myself without hesitation! She gave me the information and before I knew it, I had a retreat in my future!
I can't say how much the past few days impacted my life. To hear the personal testimonies from, pray with, cry with, and of course, laugh with these precious sisters...I am humbled and honored to have been a part of something so God-filled.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for bringing me into your special group. Surely it was a small glimpse of our future.
Here is a movie of our weekend retreat. I plan to go next year and hope to take even better pictures. It's difficult to take pictures of people without feeling like you're getting right in their faces....sometimes the situation was too personal to interrupt, but I was able to get a few very special moments.
Enjoy.

Bathroom project revisited....
Remember that bathroom renovation I posted about a few weeks ago? Well, it is finished!! I want to share a movie I made that shows pictures from start to finish...there was electrical, plumbing, carpentry, sheetrock work (mudding, painting, etc) and finish work.
My husband is amazing and so good to do all of this for me! All within roughly two weeks time. I'm so happy with the result. So, without further ado...my new Pantry/Laundry/Bathroom movie set to the music of Michael W. Smith's "Hibernia". Enjoy!

The following movie is a few of my pictures...just a few...but it's not about my photographs...it's about the song that I chose. I am not in the Cave of Adullam, living in fear for my life, questioning my calling...but like David, I long to hear from the Lord...like David I need to be daily reminded of His love for me. To know that He is reaching for me and cares for me.
I seek Him in his word daily...and lately, my mind and heart seem to be constantly dwelling with Him and I feel I am in His presence. He is showing me more and more about who He is and who I am in Him. It is a beautiful, wonderful gift that I have been given. To be aware of His presence and to have the knowledge that He is my saviour. He has anointed me as His own.
So, listen to the song...read the lyrics and enjoy the pictures....and remember that He cares and knows the answers to the why, the when, and the how....
Cave of Adullam
Speak to me, speak to me in my cave of Adullam.
Reach to me, reach to me. No one cares for my soul.
I thought I saw your kingdom, but it's not going to happen like I thought it would happen.
Remind me, remind me of the vision you gave me.
Remind me, remind me what anointing oil is for.
I need to know you're near me.
I need to know you are holding me just as closely.
As the day you took my life and gave me a vision, as the day you poured the oil and gave me a dream.
I can't believe this is happening.

Vertigo no more
Some of you may not know this but I am very much afraid of heights. Very much afraid...to the point of illness. On Monday, we drove up as far as we could before the road was gated and we couldn't go any further. I was behind the wheel and I was practically crying in fear, so high up we were! I felt as though we didn't have any traction and we were going to slide right off the road and plummet to our death in the canyon 10,000 feet below. Seriously. I was THAT scared.
You must realize that these roads are amazing! (nothing like the Mount Washington roadway!!) This is a two lane paved and double-lined road that is very well kept and wide. In many places there are stone walls and big pine trees lining the steep side...so really, there is no reason to fear. Really....(at least that's what TacCom kept trying to convince me to believe)
Yesterday, we found out that the entire road right across the 12,000 foot ridge of the Rocky Mountains was open. Great. I was certain I was going to be disappointing TacCom and we wouldn't be going. I mean, how could I? Two days before I was on the brink of hysteria...how could I possibly make the entire journey knowing that there were roads that traveled right along the edge of a 12,000 foot precipice?
Only with God. I prayed as we started up and the miracle is, I didn't even notice the place we drove two days earlier as being the same road!! To be honest, at first I was a bit edgy...but as time went on, I was actually giddy with the fact that I was conquering the fear I had! But again, only with God! I know He created the beauty we saw yesterday...just for us to enjoy! How could I forget? What a gift to be able to go all the way across in mid-October when the road is usually closed for the season! We saw 4 foot drifts of snow and gorgeous mountain lakes. The only disappointing part of the day: Not being able to share it with our kids. But we are determined to bring them here soon. (Who needs Disney? This is the ONLY way to vacation!)
By the time we were heading back the other way, I was relaxed and totally normal...and wondering why in the world I was so frightened in the beginning!
So, here is my third movie...and my favorite. Enjoy.

Pictures don't do justice...
We saw many elk and some Big Horn Sheep, too. I apologize for the quality of the movies, but the pictures are pretty good. More later...

A Mustard Seed
Here are some pictures of our trip to Colorado. It's quite surreal to see these magnificent mountains and realize you are looking at 12,000 foot high peaks! We went up to about 10,000 feet before coming to a gate that said, "Road Closed". (Turns out they had snow over the recent weekend that amounted to 4 foot drifts in the road!)
One thing that TacCom and I realized on this trip...God made these mountains for our enjoyment. You can't really live on them or build on them...they are solid rock...I don't know how the alpine trees root! So, for the most part, they are to cause us to be in awe...and we were. But then we thought...it only takes a mustard seed...only one. Enjoy the scenery.

To be baptized
On August 24, 2010, TacCom baptized our family in First Connecticut Lake, Pittsburg, NH. And then I baptized him. It was a very special time for our family. For the past year, this family has wanted to take that step in obedience to God. (Wynne will be ready next year for sure!)
We had talked about having our pastor baptize us but then TacCom had an idea….why couldn’t he do it? Is there any “rule” that says we have to have a minister/pastor/reverend perform the baptism? Where do you go when you have a question? Right! Back to the Bible! And what did we find? Story after story of regular people baptizing each other!! So awesome!!
Well, we wanted to share this time with someone…but we also wanted to be baptized up at our favorite lake…so, what could we do?
Here is how the Lord works things out: Friends of ours from church just happened to be spending their honeymoon up in Pittsburg the very same week we were vacationing and at the very same lodge. They were more than willing to witness our joyful commitment to the Lord…AND they took some really neat pictures of the event!
God gave us perfect timing, a great couple to share it with, the weather was amazing and our joy was complete. TacCom and I prayed beforehand that the Lord would work it all out and, you know what? He gave us so much more than we asked for! We serve a great God. He loves us and mightily blesses us.
Here is a movie of some of our vacation ending with the baptism on the lake.

This Peace
This video I made is not very exciting, I admit, but it expresses what is in my heart right now. Peace in knowing Christ, but a fierce longing for eternity in His presence.
