I am currently reading the gospels. I love them. I love that Jesus is so "hands on" with the people who come to him. He never hesitates to forgive and heal. He touches the people who have been declared "unclean" with His loving hands.
Somehow, as I am going through them, chapter by chapter, verse by verse, I am seeing Him in such a different way than ever before. He was here, clothed in flesh and blood, feeling what I feel, dealing with what I deal with each day. I am learning that He is more accessible to me than I thought He was!
And when He said to Peter, James and John (etc..), "Follow me"...I am amazed that they did so without any hesitation! Today's world has so many distractions...worries, relationships, tv, computer, etc...it's very difficult to fully follow Him. To truly want His input in my moment by moment life. I do want it, but sometimes I am so involved in "life", that I forget who gave it to me in the first place!
He wants to be as "hands on" in my life as He was to those followers 2000 years ago. Can I remember how much He cares about every part of me in my little life? I guess it's not such a "little life" if He cared enough to die for me.
These simple thoughts are part of my every day thinking as I am still learning how much He cares for me. He is there every moment, through it all. I just have to remember that.
