Wednesday

Every 5 years, I get the sewing bug. It bites me and then I scratch a little, fail, and put it away for another half a decade.
This time around....well, the result was the same. I spent way too much money on material, notions and a pattern...pulled out my Singer and...well, here is the almost completed project:
I know it LOOKS pretty good...but the truth is, it's too small. The sleeves are tight on my brawny biceps (what I mean is "flabby arms")...ha ha. Don't worry...I actually have another yard of material to try again...oh the humanity.

In other news, I am joyful! Despite the failure at the sewing machine...and other situations that could bring me down, I am joyful. Each day, as I continue to seek Him with a full purpose, I am seeing. My eyes are continually opened to more and more. Did you know that Jesus wants ALL of us...every part? Not just the churchy part...He wants us to be completely HIS! Every day, every hour, every minute, every nano-second....all of us, in Him.
Now, how in the world can we give ourselves completely to Him? Well, we can't. It's not going to happen until He comes back for those of us who are His. The good news is that He is patient and merciful...and I am much more aware of this....so, when I am not in His will, it's much more evident and I repent and seek Him all the more fervently.
So, the joy is real....the peace is flowing and my heart is open....perfect? not a chance!....but willing to give up myself and let Him take the lead.

Then Jesus went to work on his disciples. "Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You're not in the driver's seat; I am. Don't run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I'll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self. What kind of deal is it to get everything you want but lose yourself? What could you ever trade your soul for? ~Matthew 16:24-26  (The Message)
